Lodging adjacent to the Rhine

Hospitable and peaceful enjoyment in the Green Heart of the Netherlands

My name is Mirjam and I am delighted to welcome you to Nieuwerbrug aan den Rijn! As your hostess of ‘Logeren aan de Rijn’ (Lodging adjacent to the Rhine), I will ensure a cosy and clean stay at our accommodations.

The B&B/Lodging can be found on the first floor of the annex of our house. From the balcony of the apartment, you will have a gorgeous view of the ‘Old Rhine’, which flows through the ‘Green Heart’ of Holland. You can also relax by sitting on the small pier overseeing the rippling water of the Rhine. From our B&B, you can explore the ‘Green Heart’ of Holland; the region called ‘Cheese valley’ with pride.

Have you become curious? I look forward to meeting you and, if you appreciate it, treat you with a delicious breakfast in your room in the morning. If you are not the breakfast type, you are of course welcome to stay at our accommodations as well. Do you think a one-night stay is a bit short? Staying for a longer period is naturally possible!

Will you be ‘Lodging adjacent to the Rhine’?

The apartment can be found on the first floor and is accessible via a separate entrance. The apartment is south-facing and provides a sitting area with TV, a dining table with four chairs, a sofa, an open kitchen with electrical appliances, and a refrigerator. The patio doors give access to the balcony with a view over the ‘Old Rhine’.

The bedroom with skylight windows has two single box-spring beds, a chest of drawers, and a spacious wardrobe with hangers.

The bathroom with toilet, shower and sink can be found on the same floor as the apartment.

Guest Room

You can also opt to book our ‘Guest Room’. This is a small room with two single box-spring beds, a small table with two chairs and the utilities to make coffee and tea. A bathroom with shower and toilet will also be at your disposal.

Staying with Friends or Family

The B&B and Lodging has only one bathroom. Since I value your privacy, I do not rent out a shared bathroom. This ensures that you will not have to share the bathroom with strangers. However, if you want to book with a group of three or four persons and do not mind sharing the bathroom, you can stay with us as a group and use both the apartment and the guest room. In the apartment, there is enough space and crockery for four people.

You can enjoy our breakfast service between 07:30 AM and 09:30 AM. Your breakfast will be brought up to your room and consists of varied types of bread, both savoury and sweet spreads and toppings, fresh orange juice, and a boiled egg.

Arrival and Departure

Checking in is possible between 04:00 PM and 07:00 PM. Check out is at 10:30 AM at the latest.

Including WiFi

The use of the WiFi network is free.

Pets are not allowed in our B&B.

The surrounding area

‘Logeren aan de Rijn’ is a Bed & Breakfast in the middle of ‘het Groene Hart’ (the ‘Green Heart’). The B&B is beautifully located adjacent to the ‘Old Rhine’ in the town Nieuwerbrug aan den Rijn, where the only toll bridge in The Netherlands is located! With a stay at our accommodation, you will experience that extra bit of comfort and relaxation after, for example, a promenade, cycle tour, or motorbike tour in the area. Enjoying a beautiful view is possible from your sunny private balcony. The skylight windows in the bedroom offer a view of the vast polder landscape. The B&B is easy to reach due to the provincial road connecting Woerden and Bodegraven. Next to the road there are free parking spots for cars. Covered parking of bicycles and motorcycles is no problem as well.

From our B&B, you can make lovely trips in the beautiful area by either boat, bicycle, or foot. The Bed & Breakfast is within walking distance from two well-praised restaurants in this region. The town of Nieuwerbrug aan den Rijn has two churches. If you want to go out for a drink in the evening, you can do so in the restaurants. In short, an excellent location where you have all amenities and places of interest practically within reach.

Oudewater, also known as “Swiebertjestad”, is a fun place to visit. The Heksenwaag (‘Scale for witches’) and the Touwmuseum (‘Museum of rope’) are most certainly worth the visit!

Every Wednesday morning, there is a general market and there is a market selling regional products every Saturday. Both markets can be found at ‘Kerkplein’ in the centre of Woerden.

In the summer months, you can take the boat to Vogelpark Avifauna (‘Bird park Avifauna’). You can book this boattrip and decide whether you get on in Woerden or Bodegraven via Rederij Avifauna.
